Jet Flyover Mountain Home Homecoming (21 October 2022)

“Cancelled due to maintenance”

Mountain Home High School Homecoming football game to open with a flyover by Sean Sweeney and his Provost jet, organized by the Leading Edge Aviation Foundation and fueled by Freeman Holdings business: Hitch N’ Post and Blue Diamond Marina

The Mountain Home High School homecoming game at Bomber Stadium will kick off this year with a Jet flyover arranged by the Leading Edge Aviation Foundation.  Requested by football parents, fuel for the flyover this year is paid for by the Hitchin’ Post and the Blue Diamond Marina. The Provost jet, flown by Sean Sweeney, is a British trainer aircraft retired from service in 1993 to fly in air races and airshows and other aviation events.

Based in West Plains, Missouri, Sweeney’s businesses include The Concrete Works and G-Load Aviation providing corporate pilot services in several types of business aircraft   With the Provost jet and several other aircraft, Sean competes in national aerobatic competitions and air shows around the country.

The Leading Edge Aviation Foundation (LEAF) is a group of local pilots that work to provide resources to educate, encourage and grant financial assistance to people interested in aviation who might otherwise be excluded.  Ongoing programs include bringing aviation based STEM curriculum to the schools, maintaining an aviation learning center and library with flight simulator at the airport, granting scholarships to deserving students for aviation education and supporting school aviation clubs.  Currently LEAF manages two aircraft in a flight training operation that has trained more than 15 pilots in the last year, leading to solo flight, private pilot certificates and advanced instrument ratings.

Friday night the jet, capable of 440 miles per hour and 37,000 feet altitude, will fly over the field at 250 miles an hour at 1,000 feet to honor Bomber students, parents and fans – those at the Homecoming game, and those that could not be there this year. No jet flies without fuel, and Freeman Holdings Group provided that for tonight’s event to highlight their Hitch N’ Post and Blue Diamond Marina businesses.  In honor of Bomber Homecoming 2022, the Leading Edge Aviation Foundation and Freeman Holdings Group, say “Go Bombersl”
